Ps. I am watching "A Bronx Tale". A friend had told me time and time again that this was one of his favorite films. I will have to say, it is good. The door test. I love that one.

I.N.D.E.P.E.N.D.E.N.T.

My friend Alexis.
We met my freshman year in college, and she's been quite the "ride or die chick" since. We laugh a lot (who doesn't love that).
She lives in Suffolk County, Long Island. This is deep. I took the LIRR out to see my old friend and had a fun packed day with the pretty gal.

We got a chance to catch up, and spend some time together. We also engaged in a guilty activity....we saw "NEW MOON" on Saturday night. I don't like to talk about my affection for the film(s), but was happy to see the new highly talked about movie.
*It's my dirty little secret...shhhh

What's Your Fix?

I had a movie date planned with mon amie friday night, but it turns out, Precious was playing in only one near by theatre and was sold out for the times that convenienced us.
We walked to the 2ND avenue theatre, and harassed the nice teller at the window on what movie we should see.
Randomly a man walked up to us and handed us a movie flyer, trying to persuade us to check out a movie called "FIX".
We were curious on why he was promoting this film with such persistence.

"Wow, your really going hard for this movie, Why?" -Jolie Jamie
"I am the director of the film"- Tao Ruspoli

Hmm, that about did it for us, I figured....Why not?

So we purchased two tickets for the 7:50pm showing of "Fix" at the Village East Cinema on 12street and 2ND ave.

I won't give you my less than professional review, but it was a really cool movie, with visual stimulation not only being the artistic work of Tao Ruspoli (aforementioned director) but the charming yet heart wrenching "Leo" played by Shawn Andrews. Not to mention Ruspoli's real life wife Oliva Wilde from "House".

We were lucky enough to sit in on a Q & A after the movie with Tao Ruspoli and Shawn Andrews and found Shawn Andrew's on screen charm worked off screen as well. Delishhh.

Marvin & Me

*Photo's by "other co worker, The law*

I got to work this AM. My otherrrr co worker noticed Marvin and I had a similar outfit on.
Red/Black combo. Jeans. Black footwear.
Darling.
As seen in previous posts, this is not the first time Marvin and I showed up to work with a somewhat coordinated outfit. Call it luck! Or just plain amazing!
After this long week, tonight I'm off to see the heart wrenching "Precious" with Marvin's girlfriend, aka, my fantastic friend Vishwani.
I'll let you guys know how it goes...but in the meantime, read this interesting blog post about the movie here.

Uptown baby

We had some time to kill before Anthony's birthday dinner. We stopped in at "Golden Eagle" diner in Morris Park, Bronx.
I love diners.
Seriously..they are simple, they WILL have something you like, and usually not to hard on the wallet.
What's not to love...
Below are some photos I snapped of Anthony enjoying his pre dinner Hot Chocolate.
Yes he's 26, and still loves his whipped cream!

We had a YUMMY and FULL dinner at "Captains" restuarant in the Bronx. It's a regular italian spot, with massive portions, cool waiters, and delishhh food. Great evening and thank you to Anthony's family for the invite.

Merci.

The Center of the Universe

Some photos from Times Square from the other night.
[click on photo for larger view]

Evidence suggests a clock and its fast hand
is the most fitting tribute for continuity.
Times Square (light-lit night)
is the backdrop for our story, just as Eden
as an orchard is one narrative
beginning. In that one, the snake
as a tempter announces time’s end.
The Square sits in a city that is less a set
idea and more a disdain for sameness.
Time’s Square was always changing
like the square of the Times
she’d put in a bottle and sent out to sea
the summer she was six and visiting an aunt
in Redondo Beach. Or was it an uncle
in Boca Raton? She remembered making
a drawing where to create the ground
a canary was undercut by thick fog,
a perspective which plunged the viewer
seemingly forever. The rich gray,
its tonal variations, was the environment
of the ocean outside the back door.
Of course truth was always one side
of certainty. She stops and looks up and sees
the scenic depiction of a drama-charged life
on the Times Square billboard above,
where an actress is asking a moment,
"What are you?" Asking and asking
to the sound of a whistle calling a cab.

LL - The Coolest.

Leah & Bridgette

NOVEMBER 17th, 2009. Leah L. was born a year ago today. She is my only niece. Although I have plenty of 'babies' that I love love love. Leah is my blood. It also happens to be that she is perfection. Like seriously, I love following her growth through my sister in laws photos.

Unfortunately my beautiful niece lives a few hours away and it's hard for me to visit, but that doesn't take away from my love for her. Enjoy some precious photos I borrowed from my sister in law's facebook. Mwah thanks Em! xo

Happy Birthday LL! <3

August - November

Below: August, 2009 - Storms on the GW bridge

When I was driving upstate to see my family this summer, I was caught in a crazy storm on the highway. To me, this was a beautiful photo op. I snapped while driving on the bridge, and decided to pull over on the parkway to take a picture. [if you click on it, you can see the full size]

So this weekend, I found myself traveling up the Palisades Parkway yet again, on a dreary fall day. Photo op!
Enjoy.
